Mysto Army Anthrax Lab Shut Down - 2

One of the 9/11 events which the 9/11 Commission did not mention was the anthrax attacks that were code named Amerithrax by the FBI.

The FBI was not in its olden days stellar form on this case.

They got off on the wrong foot by indicating that a certain individual was suspect, without having a poker hand to back up the allegation.

They retracted their statements that had indicated suspicion of that individual, but were sued anyway, ending up paying millions of dollars for dragging an innocent person's name through the mud.

Then they tried to float the story that the accounting for anthrax usage within the laboratory was iron clad tight.

The accounting methods were so iron clad tight they said they were certain that one Bruce Ivins did it.

Shortly thereafter Ivins was found dead.

Without any autopsy the FBI declared he had died of an overdose of Tylenol.

Sometime after that hilarious assertion, the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) in Fort Detrick, Md. had to shut down:
As it turns out the lab is loosey goosey to the point it must be shut down until they find out what kind of WMD they really have in the place.
(Mysto Army Anthrax Lab Shut Down, see also WaPost). Once Ivins died the FBI got mavericky with the story, which took on a life of its own.

They seem to have been thinking that they were free from the negative image that was plaguing them because of the blunders in this case.

But they were only as free as puppy thinks it is as it runs full speed until it reaches the end of the leash.

One top scientist at the lab, who would have been a witness in any prosecution of Ivins, testified recently:
A former Army microbiologist who worked for years with Bruce E. Ivins, whom the F.B.I. has blamed for the anthrax letter attacks that killed five people in 2001, told a National Academy of Sciences panel on Thursday that he believed it was impossible that the deadly spores had been produced undetected in Dr. Ivins’s laboratory, as the F.B.I. asserts.

Asked by reporters after his testimony whether he believed that there was any chance that Dr. Ivins, who committed suicide in 2008, had carried out the attacks, the microbiologist, Henry S. Heine, replied, “Absolutely not.” At the Army’s biodefense laboratory in Maryland, where Dr. Ivins and Dr. Heine worked, he said, “among the senior scientists, no one believes it.”
...
Dr. Heine said he did not dispute that there was a genetic link between the spores in the letters and the anthrax in Dr. Ivins’s flask — a link that led the F.B.I. to conclude that Dr. Ivins had grown the spores from a sample taken from the flask. But samples from the flask were widely shared, Dr. Heine said. Accusing Dr. Ivins of the attacks, he said, was like tracing a murder to the clerk at the sporting goods shop who sold the bullets.

Whoever did this is still running around out there,” Dr. Heine said. “I truly believe that.”
(NY Times, 4/22/10, emphasis added). Prosecutors and defense lawyers out there know the FBI would have been defeated in a trial in a federal court if they had tried to prosecute Ivins.

None of the competent top scientists in the field who work there believe the FBI story, and you can add congress to the list of those not convinced of the FBI story:
“Simply stated, our government – and specifically, the FBI – suffers from a credibility gap on this issue”
(9/11 Conspiracy Theorists Take A Hit - 4). The gyrations the FBI has gone through in this case reeks of a cover up, because everyone knows that the 9/11 hijackers were cave men who are smarter than this:
09-11-01
THIS IS NEXT
TAKE PENACILIN NOW
DEATH TO AMERICA
DEATH TO ISRAEL
ALLAH IS GREAT
(Wikipedia). Hey, get real, those cave men can fly complex commercial aircraft, so they would not have written such an obviously fake, feeble note in an attempt to blame Islamic Muslims for the anthrax as well as dropping The Three Towers would they?

Why are the Obama Administration, Homeland Security, and others using a bull-horn to proclaim the dangers of nuclear WMD "getting into the wrong hands"?

It is a clear and present danger that weapons grade biological WMD are much less hassle to obtain, transport, and disperse?

In the What Is Really Crazy post it is shown that there must be 50 ways that are easier than nuclear WMD.

So what is wrong with this nuclear focus all of a sudden, with no regard for the unsolved murders and attempted murders of congress members?

An official report has been released which criticizes the FBI version of the 9/11 script, which is good because it may be a reversal of the denial psychology which fosters SCAD.

"Big vs Small Government" Is A Canard

We get a proper sense of play pretend politics when we take a gander at the conservative "we want small government" canard.

It could also be called a red herring, ruse, or false premise based "argument".

It was scripted long ago in the fairy tale about Goldilocks and the Three Bears; a bedtime story they conflate with the size of government.

You know the routine, "too small" for me, "too big" for me, or "just my size"?

The obvious itself solves this problem, too small is not good, too big is not good, but the proper size to serve the people is where the merit is.

That is why the U.S. Constitution mandates a census every 10 years; it is to adjust the size of government.

It gives the states a number of representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives, based upon that census.

It seems axiomatic that the size of government periodically needs to be adjusted to fit the constantly changing size of the population it serves.

The static size argument, a.k.a. the one size fits all argument, is based on civic ignorance.

The bloviating that "small government conservatives" err on and on about would have been cleansed from their ill informed understanding with a lowly Civics 101 class down at the local community college.

The state governments can likewise adjust their "size" (services, utilities, etc.) to match the needs of their own state residents, based on that periodic census, and state-specific factors.

The corporations went through a fad, based on this cognitive worm hole some time back, when they got into "downsizing", "upsizing", and "right sizing".

When the curtain closed it was obvious that it was all a farce brought on by greedy corporate marauders, who were deciding how many good jobs to whack from a corporation after a "hostile takeover", then suck the blood from the stock of that company when it temporarily surged following their false declaration that they had done a good thing.

When the stock fell after they had plundered the place, when the dust settled, quite often many faithful employees and stockholders were unfairly harmed.

Another thing we have mentioned lately is that when neoCons use the word "government" they do not include the military.

It appears that this is evidence of an emotional insecurity of some sort, which has its genesis in malfunctioning cognition.

Like a small duckling "adopting" a cat or dog as its parent.

When these individuals transferred their subconscious parental recognition dynamics toward government, instead of using academics they use dysfunctional feelings which corrupted their understanding.

This psychological dysfunction in their cognition ends up misshaping their vision into nonsensical Sarah Palinisms.

Hypocrisy is another side effect of their lack of proper adjustment, because they preach "fiscal conservatism" without knowing its meaning; their understanding having been warped, the academic meaning of fiscal conservatism does not carry through.

To them "fiscal conservatism" means "rout regulations", "shut down domestic programs", and "inflate the size of the military" wildly out of proportion.

Their psychological dysfunction then brings the inevitable we have been suffering through: financial disasters and the loss of U.S. reputation.

Their personality causes a response, to the damage they caused to millions, not unlike the comic character "Gilly" on Saturday Night Live: a timid "sahwie".

I for one am sick and tired of their "psycho talk", as Ed Shultz likes to call it.

The Gaza Surf Club On Earth Day

These Palestinian youth are members of the Gaza Surf Club.

The powers that be pollute their world with war and other forms of human sewage, however, these surfers struggle hard to survive all the human garbage on Earth Day anyway, choosing to enjoy what is still available on the good Earth.

These surfers are the beneficiaries of an elderly Jewish fellow who did them well and left the garbage somewhere in the past:
Mr Paskowitz, who is Jewish himself, decided to personally hand deliver 15 new boards to Gaza in 2007.

But when he arrived at the Erez border crossing, the main Israeli checkpoint into Gaza, he was told by Israeli security officers he was not allowed to pass and the Gaza surfers were not permitted to cross the border to collect the boards.

"I said to the Israeli soldier 'I came half way around the world, 12,000 miles, to deliver these boards. Would you let an old Jew fail?'", says Mr Paskowitz.

"I said to the guy, these guys are 50ft away. Are you going to let them come through here and get these boards?"

Mr Paskowitz describes how he leant over and kissed the Israeli border guard before the soldier eventually allowed the Palestinian surfers to come and collect the boards.

And on the beaches of Gaza, those boards, now a little worse for wear, are still being used today.
(Gaza Surf Club). These surfers have felt the injustice of the MSM garbage as well, but try to get through that too:
"Palestinians are people like in any other country," says Mafouz Caberetti, the club's president.

"We love life. We like sport and surfing, but the problem is the media which portrays Palestinians as just terrorists and bad people but this is not true."
(ibid, emphasis added). One Dredd Blog blogger who is a surfer understands how society can misunderstand because once upon a time in the U.S. surfers were persona non grata in many places.

For no valid reason!

Democracy School & Too-Big-To-Jail

Can you imagine the look on Dick Cheney's face if he were to wake up to read in an MSM newspaper that democracy had broken out in the United States, like it has in Argentina in terms of holding murderers guilty who were considered too big to jail?

This blog has pointed out several situations where other countries in the world are schooling us in the ways of democracy.

We have people in the U.S. who exhibit a banana republic mentality, mixed with contempt for traditional American values, who have been spouting off tortuous nonsense on the public airwaves for several years.

One wonders if the war colleges, where they indoctrinate the intellectual warmongers, ever teach the warmongers what it is they are "fightin' to purtek"?

In the next issue of the warmonger textbooks, perhaps MOMCOM could include the example of what happens to murderous thug types in real democracies:
Argentina's former military ruler Reynaldo Bignone has been sentenced to 25 years for human rights abuses committed almost three decades ago ...

Gen Bignone, 82, ordered abductions and torture while second in command of the country's largest torture centre between 1978 and 1979.
(BBC News, emphasis added). Wow, they must have good security because that is bold democracy.

That would be like trying Dick Cheney in the year 2030 in the United States (or perhaps Bush II ... whoever was "second in command") for torture.

I guess this case renews the meaning of The Department of Just Us, because only the wee people seem to be punished for real or imagined wrongdoing.

Support The Murdering Troops?

Daily Kos has a post about the WikiLeaks video showing U.S. soldiers murdering, in cold blood, some journalists and some children.

MOMCOM covered up the murders done by her "good guy troops" as long as she could, but the jig is up, because everyone can see through the fog of war deceit now.

MOMCOM then professed outrage, sadness, and incredulity that any U.S. soldier could ever in their wildest dreams do such a thing.

"Support the troops and don't worry about a very few bad apples" she cooed, "because we are all over here bringing you your freedom you would never otherwise have".

Some of the real U.S. soldiers in the unit that contains the soldiers who did the murders wrote open letters debunking MOMCOM's propaganda:
Josh Stieber was not at the scene of the shooting but says similar incidents happened throughout his 14-month tour; "The acts depicted in this video are everyday occurrences of this war."
Josh states that these casualties demonstrate the impact of U.S. military policy on both the civilians and the soldiers on the ground.
(Daily Kos, emphasis added). There is accord in an open letter which says they have been taught to do this:
We have been speaking to whoever will listen, telling them that what was shown in the Wikileaks video only begins to depict the suffering we have created. From our own experiences, and the experiences of other veterans we have talked to, we know that the acts depicted in this video are everyday occurrences of this war: this is the nature of how U.S.-led wars are carried out in this region.
(Letter To Iraq, emphasis added). I fear for those good and brave soldiers who leaked this for the benefit of their nation, and I hope for their safety.

Are we there yet ... the place where we have brought "democracy" to the heathen at the point of a gun with Bible verses on them?

The people of the United States are utterly unaware of the image the world has of us, and we are unaware because MOMCOM's little whores, who like to call themselves journalists, are out to make and keep you demented with their propaganda.

UPDATE: According to the military:
Troubling new data show there are an average of 950 suicide attempts each month by veterans who are receiving some type of treatment from the Veterans Affairs Department.
(Army Times). Perhaps deluding them into thinking they are going somewhere to do good things knowing they will find out otherwise is a failed policy?

Confusing "Civilization" With "Species"

There is a tendency to think that the catastrophe of global warming is an extinction threat to the human species.

The threat however, in the sequence of events, is the extinction of human civilization, not the human species.

Civilization can go down with a billion or so human survivors still remaining, yet only being taken back into the dark ages by a "time machine" built by the civilization that erased itself from the face of the earth.

One of the global warming factors which may make that easier to see is the potable water problem:
All this talk about global warming raising the depth of the ocean yet there being less and less drinking water, makes one think of the "water water everywhere, nor any drop to drink" saying of old.
(Global Warming & Potable Water). There will not be enough of this or enough of that for civilization, however, there will be plenty of water to support groups of human beings and other species around the globe:
World civilization means the nations of the world interconnected by trade, travel, treaties, and international commerce.

So, when climate change scientists talk about dangers to the existence of civilization they do not mean that the population of human beings as a species is going to become extinct.

In other words, the human species would live on even if civilization ended.
(What Do You Mean - World Civilization?). That is not ultimately comforting, however, it is better than what would result if we got into an all-out nuclear war.

That scenario could bring the wrath of heat that will destroy the earth environment way, way before its time.

If some live on through the global warming catastrophes, they will have the wisdom which world civilization ignored, and we can hope they will develop a new and wiser civilization.

One that will have a better go at finding a new home world before the real heat is put on this planet.

The Earth Now Has A Toyota Gas Pedal

Yesterday we linked to the Ecocosmology Blog post about the volcanic eruption which is so prevalent in the news.

If the distinguished scientist quoted in that post is correct (who predicted that if the Eyjafjallajökull ice sheet of Iceland melted down to a certain thinness, the Eyjafjallajökull volcano would erupt) then we have our first "popular" global warming event of the 21st Century.

How does it feel to the global warming deniers among the 7 million travelers, who thought global warming effects were being reserved for your children (ghastly thought in itself)?

Or those global warming deniers among the business people who are economically endangered because they cannot ship fresh products to Europe via the aircraft that normally carry them?

Or some of you global warming deniers who will hunger again today for your favorite fresh food flown in from somewhere over the flat earth rainbow?

The Eyjafjallajökull eruption is only "popular" in the sense that it is well known to have happened, but it is not popular to acknowledge this event as a confirmation of global warming via of the tests of science.

One main test of a scientific hypothesis is the ability of that hypothesis to predict a future event based upon the assertions within the confines of that hypothesis.

For example, Einstein predicted that a certain star, which in "straight line reality" was actually behind the Sun and (everyone thought) invisible from earth, would actually be visible during an upcoming eclipse of the Sun because space is curved, not "straight line".

When Einstein's prediction was shown to be true, it was considered further evidence in support of his "curved space reality" hypothesis, which helped move Einstein's hypothesis further along toward theory status.

The Eyjafjallajökull prediction by scientist Bill McGuire, over 2.5 years ago, has likewise been shown to be "curved space reality".

His hypothesis indicated that man-made global warming would continue to melt the Eyjafjallajökull ice sheet until a certain thinness was reached, at which time all hell would break loose, in that, the Eyjafjallajökull volcano would erupt.

Senator Inhofe, the earth is not flat, no matter what Beavis & Butthead say!

Scientist Bill McGuire and his fellow scientists know that the ice sheet was like a lid on a boiling pot that would allow the steam, etc. to escape into the air once that lid was removed.

Now Europeans are itching to fly again, so scientist Bill McGuire, along with the mighty roar of Eyjafjallajökull may be ignored.

It is as if recklessness is an obsession which decision makers resist, but don't resist very well.

Ignoring the reality and the risky potentiality for air disasters of the airliner type, Europeans are chomping at the bit to get flying again ... evidently not facing up to the risks to aircraft the fine shards of hard glass (volcanic rock) in the air can mean.

What an exact microcosm for the global warming ideology, environmental policy, and delusions world governments are intoxicated by.

They, like Toyota, will ignore the problem, write a secret internal memo, thinking at first that such policies will make it go away.

They will not recall the earth at first.

But when that denial policy fails, they will placate the populace with propaganda saying they will pass laws which will recall the earth to replace the problem of the runaway accelerator.

When collapses of the global warming kind make it necessary to build an ark for those too big to fail, they will leave the rest of us to a policy of triage ("take your foot off the accelerator and hit something soft").

The War of the Warms

Yesterday Ecocosmology Blog had a post about a global warming scientist, a geologist, who had predicted, over 2.5 years before it erupted, the current volcanic eruption in Iceland that has shut down air traffic in Europe.

A while back Dredd Blog had a post about a lawsuit concerning global warming, where the plaintiffs won a temporary appellate victory against oil companies.

They had sued oil companies for causing global warming, which caused storms to increase in severity, damaging their properties when hurricane Katrina hit the coast.

They had lost in the federal district court, had won the appeal heard by three judges of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, but had lost in their opposition to having it re-heard en banc (before all the judges on that court).

The case is now pending an oral argument hearing before all of the judges of the Fifth Circuit, while both sides prepare their briefs and prepare for that oral argument.

It seems to me that if the Fifth Circuit judges knew of the scientist who predicted catastrophe in the exact place it happened with the Eyjafjallajökull volcano, the case could be made stronger that environmental damage was foreseeable to oil companies, like cancer was foreseeable by tobacco and asbestos companies.

The tobacco and asbestos companies historically had lied under oath before congress, their lawyers had continually argued that the damage to individuals was not foreseeable, and therefore not a "proximate cause" of the injuries which the plaintiffs suing them had suffered.

The tobacco and asbestos companies eventually lost that argument so their practices were modified by the judicial system.

This would be a good time for that to happen to the oil complex because they are stuck in the exact same mindset as the tobacco and asbestos companies were ... "what damages ... what proximate cause".
